Lyndsay Jones of Friends of West Ham Park on the event on Sunday 13 July

Did you enjoy the concerts and sports events in West Ham Park last July, celebrating 150 years since the park opened to the public? Or did you miss it? Either way, you have another, or your first, chance for a fun day out!
This year the event will happen on Sunday 13 July, and is being organised by the Friends of West Ham Park, along with the wonderful park staff, and with support from the City of London Corporation.
There will be music on the bandstand from 2pm – after an opening procession from Main Gate on Upton Lane, which will be led by the Pearly King and Queen of Forest Gate and the Samba for Fun drummers! Local favourite bands will perform until 6pm.
There will also be opportunities to have a go at tennis, cricket and football with expert help and guidance. There will be craft and information stalls, and plenty of ice cream!
We are repeating the photo competition held last year, winning pictures are currently displayed on the playground railings. This year’s winners will be on display at the Friends’ stall.
Keep an eye on the Friends of West Ham Park website and social media pages, where lots more information and reminders will be posted.
