Neandra Etienne with a roundup of Newham sport this month

East London Gym Club is currently running a recreational programme at Newham Leisure Centre after losing its previous venue.
Some of their squad gymnasts have moved on to other clubs and some have just moved away from gymnastics. They currently have two ELGC elite squads still training with their coaches within other gymnastics clubs on a temporary basis.
The club is looking for a permanent location in East London for ELGC to continue the club’s elite competitive gymnastics programme. East London Gymnastics Club Management team told Newham Voices:
“We estimate we have a matter of months at best to find and relocate to a long term premises before the club will be forced to close the Squad programme.
“ELGC has a long successful history within the Elite competitive side of the sport and has been the main hub for the London Region within the sport for years.
“If ELGC isn’t offered a suitable and affordable space long term soon, then sadly the East London area will lose its only Elite Competitive Artistic Gymnastics Club and many future stars within the sport of gymnastics may be lost due to the logistical ability to travel to other Elite Clubs in time for the squad gymnastics sessions after their child’s schooling.” – https://www.eastlondongym.co.uk
