There may be no Christmas lights in Newham this year because of council cutbacks, but the local cycling group Newham Cyclists plans to see the lights in the West End anyway and is organising a ride from Newham to enjoy the sparkling atmosphere in the centre of London.

On 8 December cyclists will gather at The View Tube, The Greenway, London, E15 at dusk and will ride to visit the best of the Christmas light displays, including the tree in Trafalgar Square. It’s for adults only and people need to book to guarantee a place, or go to the start point to see if there are places available.
