Three children died in a house fire in Napier Road East Ham on 13th July sparking an outpouring of grief and concern with Newham Fire Service and Newham Council offering support to residents as the investigation into the cause of the fire continues.

Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz said: “On behalf of the entire Newham community, I extend my deepest condolences to the family, friends, and all those affected by this devastating incident.”

Also expressing condolences, Assistant Commissioner Patrick Goulbourne of the London Fire Brigade, expressed gratitude for the swift response of the emergency services.

Newham Council staff, working in partnership with the fire brigade, have been offering support and advice to anyone in need within the community.

“As we await the results of the ongoing investigation into the cause of the fire, let us come together as a community to support one another and extend a helping hand to those in grief.” added Mayor Fiaz in a statement.

Following the fire Council staff visited local schools attended by the children to ensure staff and pupils have access to whatever support is required as well as providing support to the family
