Who will you vote for on 4th July? To help you make up your mind, Newham Voices asked the parties to tell our readers what they are offering. Here is the Green Party reply.
We’re all sick of Tories, and we know Keir Starmer will be the next PM. The best time to vote with our hearts and vote Green is right now.
People are hurting and Britain is facing tough challenges… the cost of living crisis, the housing crisis, and the climate crisis.
London’s highest ever house prices demand truly affordable housing and 150,000 new council homes per year; soaring energy bills demand a clean energy revolution; and food prices, inflation, and corporate greed demand fair wages and an economy that’s centred on people before profit.
We need a new generation of political leaders who will fight for us and for what’s right.
Unlike Labour, the Green Party back a £15 minimum wage, rent controls, scrapping the cruel two-child benefit cap, and making the superrich pay their fair share. We would invest £50bn per year to save our NHS, and we were the first party to call for an immediate ceasefire in Israel and Gaza.
We have a bold and fully-costed plan to reverse the inequality and austerity agenda. More Green MPs will push Labour in the right direction.
Leave u-turns and empty promises behind and vote Green – for real hope and real change.
Nate Higgins (he/him) Green Party Spokesperson for Democracy and Citizen Engagement and Councillor for Stratford Olympic Park, London Borough of Newham
