Newham campaigner for young people Shofa Miah has been recognised for her contribution to youth services with an invitation to a Garden Party at Buckingham Palace.
Shofa, a professional in youth sector in Westminster City Council, is also founder and project Manager of Newham-based mental wellbeing charity – Ashok’s Vision.
Since 2019 she has been operating a weekly market in Forest Gate which focuses on planting and keeping youth engaged in activities.
At Buckingham Palace Shofa spoke about the charity work in Newham and as a result she has been offered tickets to attend the annual Order of the Garter parade and event with some Newham volunteers at Windsor Castle.
Before that, there will also be a party organised by Ashok’s Vision Youth Mental Wellbeing Charity to celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee on 4 June 12 at 3pm at Woodgrange Market where there will be art, martial arts and wellbeing workshops – youth Led and Youth focused.
