Community groups who need a little extra cash to upgrade their work are being invited to apply for £500 grants from the Newham Community Fund grant scheme.

The fund has been set up by Westfield Stratford City and the application process is co-ordinated by the community support network One Newham.

Money can be used to upgrade facilities – new furniture or computer equipment, for example – or it can be invested in training, improving reach on social media or set-up and development costs.

This is the second year of the grant scheme and will open in July with a deadline for applications on 22 July.

Up to 20 grants will be made and the successful applicants will be notified in August. Further details, including information on last year’s successful applicants, are available on the One Newham website, onenewham.org.uk
