Get on your bike the London Cycling Festival is peddling into Newham

The London Cycling Festival, organised by London Cycling Campaign and London boroughs, brings together inclusive and family-friendly cycling events across London on Sunday 25 May.

Councillor Sarah Ruiz, Cabinet member for Environment, Sustainable Transport, Children’s Services and Education said: “I’m thrilled this
new Cycling Festival is coming to Newham.

“Creating fun, social, and safe cycling zones is a brilliant way to encourage more people to explore our borough by bike—boosting cycling
confidence and cutting transport emissions at the same time.

“It’s particularly important that this family-friendly event will encourage young people to come along with the parents and carers to safely discover the joys of cycling in Newham.”

The London Cycling Festival is a brand-new event for London in 2025.

Events planned for Newham include:

•       Optional ride to event starting point from Central Park (East Ham) to West Ham Park. Meet outside the park gates on Bartle Avenue. Departs 10am.
•       Dr Bike in West Ham Park. Free pre-ride bike check. 8am to 11am in West Ham Park (inside Margery Park Road Gate).
•       Main ride from West Ham Park to Victoria Park. Departing at 11am and arriving in Victoria Park at 12 noon.
•       Guided return ride. Leaves Victoria Park at 2pm. Arrives back in West Ham Park at 3pm. Option to continue to Central Park (East Ham).

The route from West Ham Park to Victoria is a great opportunity for residents to learn about some of the boroughs most cycle friendly routes including: West Ham Park low traffic neighbourhood, Cycleway 2 High Street Stratford and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park

At Victoria Park there will be a Food Market, a smoothie bike demonstration and cargo bike taxi rides.
