Next week’s event at University of East London invites people from all walks of life to participate in a living, breathing, evolving performance piece

Generously funded by Arts Council England and created by filmmaker and producer Ana de Matos, CLIMACTION brings together students, climate activists, and local communities through a week-long series of collaborative workshops led by acclaimed international performer and director Yael Karavan.

Developed between 19–23 May (10:00am – 5:00pm daily), the project culminates in a striking live performance on 24 May 2025, from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, with audiences joining both in person and online.

The work invites people from all walks of life to participate in a living, breathing, evolving performance piece that brings the global climate narrative down to a personal, human scale.

Ana de Matos, filmaker and producer of Climaction: “In challenging times, creativity is resistance. CLIMACTION is where we stand together – and let the Earth speak through us.”

Yael Karavan, Performance Director of Climaction: “My question is: how can I inspire audiences to become more sensitive and open to the world around them? And how can I reach those who are unaware of—or unwilling to face—what’s coming, without threats or preaching, but with openness, creativity and a sense of togetherness? Because in the end, we’re all in this together.”
