TfL Names Overground Route ‘Suffragette Line’

London Overground honors suffragette history in East End with a dedicated podcast episode, writes Neandra Etienne.

Transport for London has named the London Overground line from Barking to Gospel Oak the Suffragette Line. 

TfL’s new Mind the Gap podcast episode on the history of the Suffragette line, recognises the role of the working-class movement in the East End in the struggle for votes for women, and Includes an interview with Helen Pankhurst, the great-granddaughter of Emmeline Pankhurst, the Suffragette leader.
