Fire-fighters will be on hand to make your car sparkle during a car wash event on 14th April, with donations going towards The Fire Fighters Charity.

Being a fire-fighter can be dangerous, stressful and traumatic. They deal with life or death situations every day which often takes a toll on their emotional well-being too.

The Fire Fighters Charity provide support and rehabilitation to the fire and rescue community.

The Car Wash event, which is firmly established on the fire and rescue service calendar, also gives fire-fighters the opportunity to share important community safety advice to the community.

Fire-fighter Nicola Holgate said: “Please come along to Plaistow Fire Station on Sunday 14th April to support your local fire-fighters, get some valuable fire safety advice, and drive away with a sparkling clean car!”

Chief Executive of The Fire Fighters Charity, Dr Jill Tolfrey, added: “The National Car Wash provides a vital source of income for the Charity, as well as being a fun and popular event. It costs £8.5million a year to keep The Fire Fighters Charity running – and with no regular government funding, we rely completely on your donations and goodwill.”

The event will take place from 1pm until 4pm at Plaistow Fire Station, 142 Prince Regent Lane, E13 8RY.
