The River Lea’s thriving community hub wants enthusiastic gardeners

Do you have a passion for gardening and a desire to connect with your community? Cody Dock is seeking enthusiastic volunteers to join their ongoing gardening program.
You can:
• Nurture new life: Help start seedlings from scratch, learning essential propagation techniques.
• Cultivate deliciousness: Grow a variety of vegetables, herbs, and fruits to nourish the community
• Spread the plant love: Propagate plants specifically for plant swaps, fostering community connections and shared greenery.
• Give back and share: Harvest, cook and eat with the team
Flexible volunteering options include:
• Wednesdays: Join the mixed-gender group every Wednesday, starting from 6 March
• Sundays: dedicated women-only sessions every week from 3rd March
No prior gardening experience is necessary. Volunteers of all skill levels and backgrounds are welcome.

No news is bad news
Independent news outlets like ours – reporting for the community without rich backers – are under threat of closure, turning British towns into news deserts.
The audiences they serve know less, understand less, and can do less.
If our coverage has helped you understand our community a little bit better, please consider supporting us with a monthly, yearly or one-off donation.
