Newham producers to champion show focusing on Black British relationships.
By Rebekah Samuel.

Newham producers, Sam Addo and Ben Moss combined their talents and experience to create Black Luv UK an online TV series focusing on black relationships in the UK.
Sam explained: “I am a firm believer in inspiring through positivity. Having worked in TV for over 25 years, I have not seen enough positive representation of the black community that is free from the ‘b’ word, ‘n’ word and gangs. I felt there was too much toxicity depicted in black relationships in programmes.”
Inspired by a couple of US programmes, Sam teamed up with long term friend and co-producer Ben to create a show that would “equally reflect a positive representation of the UK black community through a ‘British lens’. Combining 15 years of experience in education, cinematography, photography, sound, and a shared vision in the value of ‘positive representation’
Ben used his skills to create a sleek insight into the lives of the couples who openly share intimate stories around their love throughout the series.
The series, available on YouTube, proved popular with audiences at home and abroad, so much so, it caught the attention of a US distributor, and is set to be aired across America, as well as Australia, Austria and Canada via Apple TV.
Ben said: “The love and attention that followed the first series was just so wonderful to receive. As a white male with a black partner, and the father of children who the world will see as black, the value of alternative representation to what the mainstream media puts out there is so important, and hopefully Black Luv UK, will lead to more to come from us.”
