Firefighters were called to a Canning Town tower block yesterday morning following a fire on the 19th floor balcony.
Part of the balcony was damaged by the fire in the flat on Western Gateway, believed to have been caused by a cigarette.
The fire brigade was called just before 2.30am and the fire was under control soon after 3.30am.
12 people left the building before fire crews arrived and there are no reports of any injuries.
No news is bad news
