Alumni Jona Efoloko, Adam Gemili and Bianca Williams, current high performance sport scholar Emily Martin, all enjoyed medal success with Team England at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games.
Jona Efoloko and Adam Gemili won gold medals in the men’s 4x100m final. Bianca Williams took home the silver in the women’s 4x100m final.

Bonny Downs Community Association’s Indoor Bowls sessions for ages 65+ take place at the Well Community Centre, 10.45 am – 12.45 pm 14, 21 and 28 September.

Well done to Amy Conroy for winning the bronze medal in the first ever 3×3 Women’s Wheelchair Basketball event at the Commonwealth Games.
Amy plays for the Professional Women’s Wheelchair Basketball Team, East London Phoenix. They are a University of East London 1st Pro Sports Team.

The Queens’ Roar! Football display with portraits by Newham-based photographer Sylvie Belbouab took place in Green Street library, Newham Bookshop, Queen’s Square and Market.
Green Street’s vibrant culture was the inspiration for the Queens’ Roar! A series of cultural moments celebrating women, football and culture.

Biking should be accessible for all. Bikeworks UK cycling clubs are designed for people with learning, physical and sensory disabilities with a range of adapted cycles.

Clapton CFC men’s first team started their 22/23 season with a 3-0 win against Stonewall FC.
This was the last game for their assistant manager Stu Purcell, who announced that he is leaving the club to move to Belfast.

District Line Railway AFC are the London Underground, FA Standard Chartered Football Club, they compete in the London Underground League.
They have a planned game against the other tube lines that pass through Newham

East Ham MP Sir Stephen Timms attended the opening ceremony of the Commonwealth Fencing Championships Training Camp, hosted by Newham Swords Fencing Club.

Good luck to Garion who is due to start trials with Ipswich Town Football Club. Garion started at Heroes FC aged 8 and within a few months made his debut playing for the U8, 9s and U11s. He previously got scouted by Leyton
Orient, Arsenal and now Ipswich
