Targeted strategy for homes support

A new tailored approach to supported accommodation in Newham has been agreed by council leaders that aims to help people facing homelessness, whether they are rough sleepers or people dealing with complex issues arising from assisted care or immigration.

Residents living in supported accommodation will have access to bespoke support from the so-called Dynamic Purchase Vehicle, a mechanism that includes an approved list of providers through which the council can commission the care and support for residents who need it.

The council says the new system, which will operate for the next five years, will help ensure that accommodation where it is needed will be targeted to fit the needs of residents in different situations.
