In Our Father’s Image

In our father’s image,

Born to our harshest critic.

No good deed goes unpunished,

I don’t like it, but I love it.

It’s starting to make sense,

Looking at the world with the same lense.

I can see you in how they see me

You can’t redo but it repeats.

I’m just another you,

Solitaire so I followed suit.

I can shake and shuffle too,

I learned to slip and move,

When it’s going well for them

It’s because they lined you up to lose.

With that being said, I say less.

Working at the weekend

Playing to the same strengths.

The audiences they serve know less, understand less, and can do less.
