Paralympic T44 High Jump Champion and Newham and Essex Beagles AC athlete Jonathan Broom-Edwards has been made an MBE.

Jonathan, who received the award in the 2022 New Year’s Honours List, said:

“I am overjoyed. It makes the years of sacrifices and hard work totally worth it, particularly during the already difficult Covid climate.

“I will continue to do my best to defy gravity, champion resilience and use what I have achieved to promote education on the less visible disabilities. I will continue to give back to the sport that has given me so much.
