In the heart of Newham, something special is taking shape. The Foundry, home of the West Ham United Foundation, is more than just a building, it’s a welcoming, inclusive space designed for local people of all ages to connect, belong and thrive. Rooted in East London’s proud heritage and inspired by the legacy of Thames Ironworks FC, The Foundry represents a powerful commitment to community, opportunity and support.

At the heart of this offer is a simple but vital promise: every young person under the age of 18 can enjoy a free, freshly prepared meal in a safe, warm and inclusive environment. Access to good food should never be a barrier to participation or wellbeing. Through the Free Youth Impact Meals programme, young people are offered freshly made pasta with tomato sauce, seasonal vegetables and parmesan cheese – nutritious, comforting food that supports physical health and a sense of care and belonging. The offer is open to all under-18s visiting The Foundry, whether attending activities, visiting with family, or coming as part of a school or community group.

However, The Foundry’s impact goes far beyond food. Supporting young people also means creating opportunities to be active, build friendships and access positive pathways. Free football sessions delivered through Premier League Kicks take place three evenings a week, providing structured, safe activity alongside mentoring and wider support. These sessions help young people develop confidence, resilience and connections that extend beyond the pitch.

Food and community also come together in the E6 Kitchen powered by Beyond Food, a welcoming space open throughout the week to local residents and visitors of all ages. Whether stopping by for a morning coffee, meeting informally, enjoying traditional Pie and Mash on a Friday lunchtime, or taking part in food education and wellbeing sessions, the kitchen plays a central role in everyday life at The Foundry.

As a £5 million redevelopment project, The Foundry is a high-quality community hub offering a bookable 4G pitch, meeting rooms and flexible spaces for learning, collaboration and events. It supports a wide range of programmes including youth development, education, employability, health and wellbeing, disability sport, women and girls’ sessions, volunteering and social action.

This is more than a venue; it’s a place where stronger futures are forged and opportunities begin. Whether you are a young person, family, school, community group or local organisation, come and experience The Foundry for yourself. Visit, get involved, book a space or simply drop in, and be part of the community.

Become a member for free and be part of a welcoming community space, drop in for a coffee at the E6 kitchen and join us every Friday for Pie and Mash!
