The appointment of the People Powered Places Youth Advisory Board was announced by members, Samarah, Sharan, Zahiraha, Zahra and Zainab at the launch event.

The Board is made up of 15 young people from ages 13-24 and was created to ensure young people in Newham have a voice in shaping their community, through the programme.

The Board will influence decisions and promote outreach to other young people and inclusive change, through mentoring, events, school outreach, and partnerships with local groups, which will strengthen youth engagement and create safer, more connected spaces.

People Powered Places Our Ideas events will take place in July. See newhamco-create.co.uk/en/events
