Quadrille dancers celebrated Dominica’s heritage at the Waitukubuli 10th anniversary event, reports Neandra Etienne.


Dominica Oversea Nationals Association Quadrille dancers performed at the Waitukubuli Culture and Tourism Initiative 10th anniversary Creole evening on 5 October. The event, held at the Dominica High Commission, celebrated Dominica’s culture.
The group performed at this year’s Newham Windrush event in East Ham Town Hall, with Emma Francois from Newham participating.
Sakafet London also held a fashion show featuring models from the Newham workshop. Founder Jennifer Laurent-Smart, who grew up and went to school in Newham, was presented with a certificate of appreciation.
Dominica Independence Day is 3 November.
