Sadler’s Wells East launches with Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu’s community-driven performance and collaborations across East London, writes Neandra Etienne.

Sadler’s Wells East in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has announced its upcoming programme. The first programme will be Vicki Igbokwe-Ozoagu’s Our Mighty Groove featuring a community cast from East London alongside professional dancers, which opens in February 2025. Igbokwe-Ozoagu worked as a Mass Movement Choreographer at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Sadler’s Wells will also collaborate with Stratford East as part of Stratford East’s 140th anniversary celebrations, BBC Music Studios, London College of Fashion, UAL, V&A East and UCL East (University College London).
The new centre is home to two educational facilities, Academy Breakin’ Convention (ABC) and The Rose Choreographic School. The ABC open day is 9 November. Registration closes 3 November. 9 November, 10am – 3pm, Sadler’s Wells East, 101 Carpenters Rd, E20 2AR
