Frames of Mind’s Full Cycle project highlights Forest Gate’s cycling history with events and film screenings, writes Neandra Etienne.
Stratford based arts organisation Frames of Mind’s latest Heritage Lottery funded project Full Cycle, explores Forest Gate’s unique cycling heritage and legacy.
Full Cycle celebrates its unique heritage through the lens of Edward Ernest Etty, better known as Ted, the owner of Etty and Tyler motor and cycle repair shop on Upton Lane E7.
The project is producing a documentary film, Mechanically Minded to preserve Ted’s stories. The film will be screened locally in November.
Frames of Mind Full Cycle Community event includes bike-themed activities for all ages and a guided bike trail tour led by Newham Cyclists that will start at Etty and Tyler bike shop.
Dr Bike mechanics will also be at the library to fix bikes for free. 3 November, 12pm-4pm, Forest Gate library.
