A blue plaque commemorating local record shop and recording studio has gone missing, reports Neandra Etienne

De Underground’s Newham Heritage blue plaque was unveiled during the project Crate Digging: The Influence of De Underground Records by Rendezvous Projects during Newham heritage Month in June 2021.
Unfortunately the plaque has since been removed. Peter Ashan, a local historian, contacted Newham Voices. He said: “I contacted Newham Archives and was told that a tenant had told them the landlord had removed it. They had no further information as to where the plaque is now, nor if the Council intends to contact the landlord to get the plaque back.”
If you have any information on the removal of the De Underground Newham Heritage Month blue plaque please contact info@rendezvousprojects.org.uk
