A great season for both men’s and women’s teams
Newham-based Genesis Futsal club has had a successful season playing this exciting and fast-paced small sided football game, which is widely played across the world.
Their men’s team were crowned National Futsal Series (NFS) Tier 2 South Champions and are now promoted to the top tier of English Futsal. The men’s team also reached two cup finals in the National Futsal Cup and NFS League Cup.
The women’s team has also reached the final of the National Futsal Series (NFS) League Cup Plate Final. It was a great accomplishment for the club to be in three cup finals at the end of the season.
The women’s team played the National Futsal Series (NFS) League Cup Plate Final on Saturday 25 May. The men’s team played in the National Futsal Cup on Saturday 25 May. There were agonising losses in both games.
Trevor Tamatave, Club Secretary said of their success: “We were excited as a club to be in the two major cup finals for the men’s team and also the women’s team being in the final of the NFS League Cup Plate. It was a special moment for the Genesis Futsal Club.”
