Clapton CFC Women’s first team went through to the next round of the Women’s FA Cup 2023/2024 with a 14-0 win over St Margaretsbury FC. Teju Callisto was the player of the match with a record seven goals plus an assist. Second Round Qualifying is on 1 October, Wodson Park Vs Clapton CFC. Professional boxing coach Mickey Cunningham is now offering kids boxing classes for 7-15 year olds at UK Fitness Club in Upton Park. Classes are £10 per session and are subsidised by Mickey so that children do not have to pay a day pass to access the gym.

Senrab Lionesses is the first all-girls group at the club. They welcome all girls of any age or ability to come and have fun with them, learn the sport, enjoy the togetherness and bonding opportunities but also the safe space provided. Daniel John, Youth Development Coach, Senrab Football Club said: “We will be focusing on building up to four teams, of varying abilities, at the primary school age group and two age groups in the secondary school cohorts. We are preparing for the current Lionesses to play their first game in October 2023.”

Forest Run is a free, inclusive and welcoming running club. The route is through the Flats and Wanstead Park. It is planned for all abilities and with no time limit for completion.
A 5k route is offered for those who have run before and are up for the challenge, and a shorter 3k route is also offered for a gentler pace – this is recommended for those new to running, getting back into fitness or those wanting to take it a little easier.
Every Sunday at 9am. The running coach, Lil, will take you through a warm up, welcome any new runners, and then head out for the communal run at 09:15am DM to join!

Cycle Sisters founder Sarah Javaid was awarded an MBE in the King’s birthday honours list for services to cycling and the community. Sarah founded Cycle Sisters back in 2016, which has since grown to a London wide network with ten groups supporting hundreds of women across the capital to discover and change their lives through cycling.

West Ham’s second chance and post 16 programme offers a combination of education and football. Youngsters will train, educate and play matches during the week, leaving weekends free to play grass roots or semi-pro football. Once on the programme players who attain the required standard may be put forward for an academy trial at West Ham or other clubs.
