A small group from The Wanstead Tap are going to Cycle from East London to Dunwich to raise funds for the Clapton CFC ground rebuilding appeal.

East End Women’s Museum pop-up exhibition Ready, Set, Go! Newham Women in Sport took place at East Ham library for Newham Heritage Month 2022.

West Ham United player Ben Johnson was named the first ever Mark Noble Young Hammer of the Year at the 2021/22 Player Awards, for a second consecutive campaign.
The Young Hammer of the Year Award was renamed in honour of ‘Mr West Ham’ Mark Noble in recognition of his contribution to the Hammers during his incredible 18-year career with the club.

ABB FIA Formula E World Championship returns to the capital with the London E-Prix, a double-header of races at ExCeL London.
There will be a return to full capacity grandstands. The race circuit is overlaid on the streets around, and even inside, the ExCeL London.
The London E-Prix is an all-day family-friendly event including the Formula E fan festival
East London Street Artist Mr Cenz applied his creative skills directly to a high-performance Formula E race car. He said: “I’ve painted lots of murals in the area over the years, so working with Formula E to celebrate the return of the London E-Prix has been a huge passion project for me.”

The Royal Docks Team is hosting Queens’ Roar! A free, fun one-day Football tournament (five-a-side) for Newham-based women and girls football teams.
There are free activities to get involved with on the side lines including: fun football coaching sessions for younger children, badge making workshops to design your own football emblem or a badge and photography ‘booth’ with local photographer Sylvie Belbouab, who will also be taking portraits of the teams on the day

Football fans gathered to watch the record-breaking celebrity football match between England v Soccer Aid World XI at Soccer Aid for UNICEF, held at the London stadium that raised more than £15 million.
During half-time the crowd took part in a Mexican Wave and rehearsed the lyrics to Robbie Williams’s song Angel.
Former West Ham Manager/Player Harry Redknapp was part of the England management team, which also featured ‘Mr West Ham’ Mark Noble.
The match went to penalties after the 2-2 full time result. Comic Lee Mack’s penalty sealed the win for the World XI
Soccer Aid for UNICEF 2022 was officially a record-breaker, raising an incredible £15,673,728 – the most in Soccer Aid history! All the money raised will help UNICEF’s work around the world, so that children everywhere can have the childhoods they deserve.

The Royal Docks will play host to a spectacular finale celebration as the Round the World Clipper Yacht Race finish event will take place next to the Royal Albert Dock.
The event will feature a main stage with live music and entertainment, as well as food and drink

Typhoon Dragon Boat Club is one of the top teams in London taking part in the British Dragon Boat Association League which has different events all around the country. Recently they came 2nd in the London Regatta event taking trophies in the Women/Men’s 250m and Open 500m races with other teams participating from all over the UK.

The club is based at the London Regatta Centre in the Royal Docks in East London and has been operating for over 19 years. They train throughout the year with three sessions in the summer months and welcome any new members to the sport. There are two boats which can accommodate up to 20 people per boat.
