The London Borough of Newham has a long and rich history and our diverse communities are at the vision of everything we can do. The United Nations declared 21 May to be the World Day for Cultural Diversity for Dialogue and Development.

This date is celebrated through the diversity of dialogue, the fundamental rights of artists and creative professionals, the cultural development of human life, and the protection of cultural expression.

UNESCO is working to promote access to culture, which is crucial for the stability and development of the world. Accepting and embracing our cultural diversity is a path to dialogue, respect, and mutual understanding. Culture is a tool for growth and development of future generations.
