A new art exhibition opened on 23 April in an unusual setting: Stratford Unitarian and Free Christian Church.
The artist is Berkay Bugdan who divides his time between the UK and Turkey where he still has his studio.
His first show was in Istanbul in 2012 but Berkay recently moved to London, a place he believes is the best fit for him as an artist.
What you see when you look at his art is dependent on your perspective. Your view changes according to the distance from the painting. This is intentional and a result of the techniques he uses to create his art.
The industrial polarised charcoal he uses creates something that is both beautiful and mysterious.
You can see some of Berkay’s work on Instagram.
The exhibition opens to the public on 30 April and continues until 20 May.
Opening Hours:
Thursday to Saturday, 3pm- 7pm
