Newham Council has launched a Young People’s Charter.
The charter outlines key areas of commitment to children and young people and encourages local businesses, organisations and individuals to sign up.
Alongside the charter, a draft of the Children and Young People’s Plan was approved by the Cabinet in March, with the full plan set to be released later in the year.
Both the charter and the plan were co-created by young people following a ‘Next Gen Newham’ meeting, an initiative that allows young people to shape the future of the Borough.
The Borough has one of the highest populations of children and young people in the country with some 34 percent of Newham residents aged 24 and under.
