Zikora Day Nursery in Maryland celebrated the holiday season with a charitable week of fun, games and the sale of a huge selection of cakes and pastries that raised more than £1100 for Save the Children.

The children baked cupcakes and adults provided a range of delicious cakes including
lemon and chia seed cake, chocolate brownies, traditional Romanian cake as well as
homemade meat samosas, vegetable spring roll and pancakes. Also on sale were Christmas ornaments and tea and coffee to grab and go for parents in the morning

The Director, Dorothy Ede said: “A massive thank you to everyone taking part in the fundraising event. We have around 30 children attending the nursery currently and we are happily surprised to see the total amount.”
