I have to go on regular walks due to my age and have made a habit of noting dog fouling and fly tips as I go along.

When I get home I enter what I have noted on to the council’s online Report It facility.

I think it’s particularly important to get dog fouling on pavements cleared in case children step into the mess.

Here is what I reported last time:

On the green space by flat block 1-11 Talbot Road loose railings, full black plastic bags.,
bits of a bed and a big cardboard box
Inside the long alleyway beside 89 Wellington Road, pieces of a bed, and scatter of litter.
While shopping at Sainsbury’s East Ham, I reported on the filthy state of the alleyway
at the side.
Fly tips on the pavements by the crossing at Talbot Road and Market street; and by the
intersection of Canberra Road and Barking Road

There is an issue of take up where there is recurrent fly tipping on the same site, as on this green space, Talbot Road. I had the response ‘fly tip cleared’. But I checked up and found it still there. So did the fly tip team just go by record of the previously reported instance?

If more of us could consider reporting street issues as they go along this would help our environment.
