A taste of the Caribbean: plantain

First get your plantain! Available from good local greengrocers.

  1. Preheat oil in a large frying pan 
  2. Remove the plantains skin and slice into thin pieces 
  3. Place plantain in hot oil and cook until brown and tender, then turn over and cook the opposite side to the same degree
  4. Remove from pan and place on paper towel to drain excess oil
  5. Plate, eat and enjoy
