On 18 June 2020, Dame Vera Lynn passed away peacefully, surrounded by her close family, aged 103.
Today, on the anniversary of her passing, the Dame Vera Lynn Memorial Statue appeal was launched at the White Cliffs of Dover.
The aim is to raise funds to commemorate Dame Vera and preserve her important legacy for generations to come.
The statue will be sculpted by renowned artist Paul Day, who has crafted some of the most high-profile creations of recent times.
The family of Dame Vera along with Sir David Amess MP are raising money through the release of a fundraising tribute song called ‘Irreplaceable’.
It will be available for download via Amazon, iTunes and other outlets.
