It isn’t every day that a community comes together to launch its own newspaper – for local people, by local people. But that’s exactly what has happened in Newham, London’s most vibrant and diverse borough where the London 2012 Olympic legacy shares a landscape with some of the most challenging deprivation in the capital. And we did it during lockdown!

That’s why we are proud to invite you to help us celebrate this important venture. Be in at the beginning in what promises to be an historic initiative as our not-for-profit, community-owned project gets underway.

This is news with a difference. We focus on community issues, combining the best of professional journalism with volunteer-written articles from the people who live and work in Newham.

Ever wondered what real community news looks like? From solidarity during lockdown to police stop and search; from poetry and the visual arts, to historic local figures who made news in their day, you’ll hear from the citizen journalists and the people whose stories they brought to life.
